Don’t Get Scammed on Solar
I’ve been a Certified Energy Manager with the Association of Energy Engineers for 10 years. I also I have a Master of Business Administration, a BS in Engineering & Management, and am a NABCEP PV Associate.
I’ve completed hundreds of commercial energy projects totaling tens of millions of dollars.
I’ve also been a homeowner since 2012.
As a full-time energy and solar expert, one of the most common questions I get when I talk to other homeowners is “Should I install solar?”
This is a fair question. Last year 700,000 homeowners installed solar. It’s a booming industry!
Unfortunately, many of those homeowners were sold systems that were not best for them.
Is Solar a Scam?
If you do a Google News search for “Solar Scams” you’ll find dozen of stories from throughout the country of people that were ripped off.
Here’s just a few common scams:
- Overpriced systems
- High interest financing
- Bad Contracts
- Poorly Designed Systems
- Lousy Installs
Despite all of these potential pitfalls, when done right, solar is not a scam.
The key is homeowner education.
Solar systems are complex. There’s a lot to understand about:
- Utility Rates
- Net Metering
- Solar Components
- Electrical Systems
- Utility Rebates
- ….and more
Where To Start
My full time position as President of Holistic Utility Solutions serves large commercial properties in evaluating and implementing big, complicated energy and solar projects.
We don’t sell residential solar!
However, I wanted to do something to help homeowners.
I decided to put together a simple guide with some training to help other homeowners evaluate if solar is right for them.
This is not a complicated 10-hour course designed to teach you how to design and install your own system. This isn’t geared towards solar salespeople or installers either.
This is a simple guide for homeowners who just want to know if solar is right for them.
I’m making this 15-page guide available for FREE.
